An Accounting of the Pantheon of Kune, by Ashluun of Ivnaoth, Scribe of the College of Winter Stars.

In the unknowable void, many spirits existed; powerful and prescient, serene and stoic, devious and dauntless. Four of these gathered together and sought to combine their strength and wisdom for the good of a small and forgotten world. Khrayis, eldest of them, his brother Vanahe, and two of the wisest mothers of the heavens: Nalloa and Astraele.

These became Kune's Elder Council of Gods, considered the Central Pantheon.

Khrayis, the Sun King: is the one all others bow to. (A placement up for interpretation depending on one's race and beliefs) He created from chaos the world as it is known to us: three distinct realms existing simultaneously. This was completed with help from the other Elders. Khrayis is seen as aloof and detached from his followers. He specifically rules the skies and sun. (Khrayis keeps to his palace in the Fae Realm much of the time.)

Astraele, the Dusk Queen: Mother of stars. She is the goddess of love, hope, and safe travels. Sailors in particular worship her over others. Astraele is thought to be the most reserved of the pantheon and rarely makes herself known. (Astraele prefers the Shadow Realm, though she does not maintain a throne that is known to us)

Nalloa, the Dawn Queen: Mother of the moon. She is the goddess of seasons, harvest, and weather. Nalloa is often held as the patron to farmers and families. (Nalloa feels she does the most good, and is most appreciated, in the Mortal Realm.)

Vanahe, the Shadowed Brother: God of secrets and guide to the lost. Rogues, thieves, and spies pray to him. Vanahe is the less known and even lesser mentioned fourth Elder. He supposedly had a hand in shaping the known world and wanted to freely share knowledge and magic with all mortals. Vanahe was banished for opposing Khrayis. In his rebellion, he went on to create The Corridors; The endless network of passages between realms and unbound from time, where he reigns alone.

[Name variants include Kanahe, Van'he and Vanne. Council of Three followers have made several attempts to eradicate all mention of Vanahe from the world: burning written works, defacing temples, destroying artifacts. Very little remains as a testament to him, for good or ill. Lazulian's Azur Tower in the College of Winter Stars, and the Bladewing Repository in Drakosto, hold the only known references.]

----------

The Outer Pantheon:

Raelerax, Dragon-Father: He is the giver of magic to dragons and other non-humanoid creatures. While depicted as subordinate to Khrayis, dragonkin and many others believe he merely keeps the peace and allows Khrayis his throne. Raelerax prefers the Fae Realm and makes no secret of it. The dragonkin hold him above all other deities, as do many practitioners of non-standard or hybrid magic.

Lunaro Moonscribe: He is the immortal scribe for the realms. Lunaro observes and studies events of realms and records his findings. His perfect memory can recall the date of any event in history. (anything from major wars and catastrophic weather to what Jasper the blacksmith in Galestone had for supper on his 30th birthday) He is the bestower of the first arcane understanding to mortals, and gave it first to elves and other fae where he reigns. Lunaro is considered the God of hidden knowledge, patron to academics, wizards, and enchanters. He is known to be patient but choosy, and it is easy to lose his favor.

Shadow Realm court:

Andaro Skyborn: Warlord of the Charred Expanse. The first Ombran elf, believed to be an Altan who was cast down for opposing the Elder Council. He rules with detached melancholy, wishing his Ombran children to be treated fairly in the other realms. Andaro possesses a violent temper if crossed. His crown has been a coveted artifact since its forging. It imbues the ability of Aether Protection, shielding against scrying and protecting the wearer against much of the environmental peril of Shadow and Fae Realms. It was most recently stolen by a group known as the Shadewalkers, and held at an unknown location.

Noktori: A giant serpent Demigod living in the vast river system in the Shadow. It is believed this being existed in the world before the Elder Council, but it is impossible to say. He rules twisted creatures which originated in the Mortal and were corrupted by him to do his will. (serpent fish called blackfangs are his scouts in the waterways of the Shadow Realm) Noktori is cruel and prone to trickery, but can be manipulated with flattery and riches. He and his underlings will feed on arcana whenever possible, or destroy anything fae.

Darratha Long-Seeing: She is a dying breed of were-fox, who travels the whole of the Shadow Realm. Darratha is a friend to the weary, the scared, the lonely. She constantly spies on the other deities, everyone really. She will trade secrets for safety, information, food, any deal she finds worth her time. Darratha is a long-time friend to Vanahe and comes to him with secrets.

Qan Nightbound: Once a dwarf wizard, he sought to master worldblood after growing bored with the traditional magic he was taught. Qan has not been seen nor heard from in many years. It is widely accepted that he secluded himself in some of the more active worldblood regions to study and meditate. Some believe he became one with the worldblood itself and no longer claims a physical form.

[Junia Bronzebone was a skilled dwarf magic user, trying to impress Qan Nightbound. She targeted a Shadow Realm to Mortal Realm rift [now known as Junia's Hubris] that was naturally occurring, but irregular. It was made permanent and stable at the cost of the badlands on the Mortal side becoming ever-shifting and destabilized, and the surrounding area in the Shadow Realm desolate where it was once thriving. Junia died in the process, and Qan Nightbound did not notice her handiwork until decades later.]

Fae Realm court:

Naya: Queen of Frozen Night. She rules a vast area of the Fae Realm and acts as a compassionate leader to her subjects (most of the time). She is the daughter of Astraele and a fae spirit (some believe Lunaro). Naya resembles an Altan elf, but with an otherworldly beauty most find unnerving.

Nym: Queen of Torchlight. Demigoddess of victory and righteous war (as far as the Fae Realm is concerned). She was a fae spirit who impressed Khrayis with her bravery and will, and was ascended to power. She is constantly at odds with Naya, wanting to claim her territory.

Jaas Kannan: King of Falling Leaves. He presides over a large section of the Fae Realm, fickle and always turning his attention to the latest daring or boldness of his subjects vying for his favor. He desperately wants to join with Naya to combine territory and rule with an undisputed majority. So far, he has been stiffly rebuffed. Jaas is the son of Nalloa, but his father is not truly known. Some say Khrayis, others say Vanahe. Most just assume an unnamed fae spirit.

Sul: King of Thorns. He holds no real territory. Sul is a wanderer and friend to the unicorns. He is known to be elusive, but can grant powerful boons to those who can find and impress him. Many believe Sul is an ancient fae spirit, never having been ascended or otherwise touched by the Elder Council.

Other Powerful Beings of Note:

Xuthav the Blackblooded: A dracolich, the oldest and cleverest. He is rumored to live in S. Drakosto and makes covert visits to other places. He is not overtly evil, but interested in undeath, immortality, and the knowledge and understanding it would unlock for all mortals. Xuthav is said to be the favored of Raelerax and possibly the first dragon to receive magical understanding.

The Timeless One, The Forgotten Voice, Eldest of the Young, Nekonata, Unknowable Being, The Power Beyond Ages, Aetheran, Fell-Fae. Most often, It can be found in the Fae, (or more correctly, it can find you in the Fae.) but it is not bound there. This being is believed to be a fae creature that was long ago united with, and was corrupted by, raw arcane power. Possibly the early fae trying to tame arcana, but this entity is so ancient, and so shrouded in mystery, it is impossible to know.

Nerixel the Collector: A mist dragon living in, but not native to, the Shadow Realm. Nerixel's past is unclear, but at present, she is the most powerful dragon in the Shadow Realm. Her hoard is composed of items from the Mortal Realm, things that cannot be found in the Shadow. This suggests she is from the Mortal and was somehow banished or trapped in the Charred Expanse, though neither she nor Andaro will elaborate.
